own an outofwarranty P2015d that had been working beautifully for 19 months Not sure if something happened when I moved it to my new home but since my move late December Ive experienced the same problems described above Also Ive had the printer complete one job successfully after restarting it only to have it stop working after that sometimes it prints only one page of a multipage job sometimes no LEDs are lit even when the power is on sometimes it shows up as offline on my Mac OS X 1056 even though its still connected to my USB port and its power is on Called HP Tech Support at 8004746836 and spoke to a technician who troubleshooted with me and concurred that this was a problem with the formatter board and that is was a known issue He said it affected 1020 of all P2015s but that since my printer is out of warranty HP would charge me 260 incl shipping to repair it I wont be doing that of course For what its worth he said the P2035 and P2055 are excellent printers and that only 12 are sent back for servicing Hope thats helpful to someone

<dc:subject>Laser periodically If you fax very little it should still be there just go under reports and print off the activity report otherwise its most likely gone As always make sure documents like that are noted and print off a confirmation afterwards Sorry to hear about the situation hard lesson to learn

<dc:subject>Laser mine too thanks caveman Had problems that indicated both the SL5 and SL4 needed to be repaired and found this thread and the other you mention which proved invaluable The SL5 was easy and I even managed to do the SL4 without taking out all of those sockets thanks to a piece of felt a pair of thin tweezers and a steady hand

<dc:subject>Laser page

Another thank you to all those people who contributed to this thread I had the same image shifted down the page jamming and streaking problems Downloaded the manual from the link in this thread and then took it apart to find the SL5 The pad was actually there and in the right place which threw me a bit but I thought what the hell and stuck a bit of felt on top of it Put it all back together and bingo no more shifting jamming or streaking Unfortunately about 20 pages later the page started to concertina as it was being printed I found another thread on the site that pointed to the transport roller solenoid being the culprit just below the SL5 Timing roller solenoid I had just repaired so took the whole thing apart again put more felt on this other solenoid and now so far so good no more concertina either Moral of the story is why not put some felt on both solenoids and save yourself dismantling the printer twice

<dc:subject>Laser Forum</dc:subject>

<item We have had a HP color Laser Jet 2840 for about 3 years now We have it set up at home networked and is used by two cpus The printer is barely used printing about 5001000 pages over the last 3 years I love this printer compared to all the crappy inkjets ive owned in the past this blows it away I turned the printer on after being away all weekend and having shut it off the printer lcd shows the hp name and then the scrolling bars with the flashing orange and green leds The drum rotates and cycles making the normal startup noises Then the lcd goes blank no led lights no scanner lights are on if i lift the lid All buttons are nonresponsive and I cannot print or get into the web based tool box or whatever its called If I leave the printer on every hour or so it does the normal drum rotationcycle but the lcd still doesnt come back on and i cannot print My thoughts are either some sort of firmware problem or maybe something is burnt out in the control panel Any ideas
