longer worked I happened on fixyourownprintercom by accident and the 1427 995 plus tax and shipping saved me having to shell out another 8400 for another Epson 88 Id already purchased 70 worth of new ink cartridges which I didnt want to waste Now Ill be able to use them because of this wonderful web site and really easy instructions although I wouldnt have liked a photograph of what the pads in the service station were supposed to look like since there were only two pads and a space for another one so I wasnt sure if the missing pad was stuck under the assembly or not But I took a chance and put the solvent on the two pads waited about 7 hours and everything was like brand new Hooray for the fixyourownprinter guys and gals

<dc:subject>InkJet

Chasm The information from damnprinter is mostly correct except you need to aim the water sream at the bottom of the head where the nozzles are Then turn the head over to see if there is still color wet drops of ink on any filter screen keep flushing the head until there is no more ink After that you have to dry the head with compressed air to get any water out of the back of the green circuit card and every other location It is also a good ides to let it dry overnight The water you use should be no hotter than you can stand on you hands as you hold the head When you changed the ink carts did you ever run a cleaning cycle from the PC or a Deep cleaning cycle You have to do this to get the printhead primed with ink If you continue to have problems send me an email by clicking on my USER ID

<dc:subject>InkJet 6A00

To the last few people that have posted the 6A00 error It is most likely a jammed Purge unit Use a flash light with the cover up and with a rubber glove on try and wipe as much of the sticky ink off of the wiper blades This assumes you can get the printhead to move away from the home position The primary problem is that the 1st job of the purge unit is to LOCK the printhead in the parked position If the purge unit can not do a successful cycle it will stay in the locked position and you cant get the head away from home There can be several reasons why the purge unit will not complete the cycle and only one of them is due to being stuck in place by sticky ink pilled up on the wiper blades If you can get the head to move to the center the only way to make it move is to take off the covers If you want to know how to do that for each specific printer just click on my USER ID and send me an email and I will respond

<dc:subject>InkJet Forum</dc:subject>

<item email Once I get that I can send you some more information about your problem and attach some pictures that will help I assume you are asking about the Canon i550 To help me understand your Comb effect problem I need you to scan the nozzle check or any print that shows the Comb effect and send it to my reply email address Now to Safetydave The Canon all in one printers are great I have been using the MP730 for many years and I have 4 others that Im working on I purchased a MP530 for my daughter and she loves it Of course I take care of it which is really just a matter of checking it each time I visit her The 7 ornage flashes is one of the bad signs It is typically a bad printhead The only thing you can try is to clean the contacts on the rear of the head and inside the Carriage and remove the main power cord for about 30 minutesthen plug the power in without putting back the head or ink and see if it comes up with a solid green If so then replace the head and the ink and see what happens If the error comes back immediately it is a bad head As far as the last note on this thread about soaking in hot water if you do this just make sure you dry the head completely using compressed air to get all the water out from the back of the head

<dc:subject>InkJet rebound spring for the white scraper blade This is the finely wound straight spring that is bent in the middle by the small arm on the top of the plastic scraper blade The i560 i950 ip3000 ip4000 and the ip5000 all have a rebound spring for the plastic scraper blade located at the top front of the purge unit The pictures below are from an ip5000 taken by Dobermann and the yellow arrows show where the spring would be located http:i28photobucketcomalbumsc249ron350PC051095Ajpg http:i28photobucketcomalbumsc249ron350PC051093Ajpg
