The sensor is in the middle of the fuser you can see the black plastic finger that is on a light spring load

<dc:subject>Printer Forum)

I have to be the luckiest tech out here Most of the rollers I use last almost and sometimes the full maintenance cycle of the printer On the 42XX43XX I have never had to replace rollers before the 200K requirement Most times when I do the kit they are worn but they still pickup the paper just fine HP 40004050 are a bit different as most times I see them go at about 120K and you then start to get false paper jams 5Si80008150 rollers usually last the full 350K and I am amazed how some of them are still picking ok when half the rubber has worn down HP 9000 rollers never go bad Have seen some with over 1 Meg that have never been changed Most of the rollers I use are HP OEM however some are aftermarket that come with aftermarket maintenance kits Aftermarket ones tend to be not a reliable as HP OEM

<dc:subject>Printer for the dp model on ebay or just find someone willing to part with that chip that is all that has to be replaced Xerox when they sold it asked a lot of money for the chip so I would think going to them would not be practical Below is a link to an auction on ebay There is a chip in the center with a white label on it and to the right is a smaller chip with a white label The smaller chip is the ROM chip On yours the number will have a 1217 in it and on the dp models the number will be 1471 Contact the seller on ebay and ask what number is on the chip You may get lucky http:cgiebaycom Forum)

Where the defect occurs on the sheet is very important Legal paper feeds with the 8 12 as the leading edge where letter has an 11 leading edge If the issue occured before the fuser replacment I doubt the new fuser is the issue One place overlooked is the facedown assembly where the paper exits If one of the rollers is damaged it could cause an issue with the paper especially if one of the rollers at either end of the assembly To eliminate this item just change the output in the paper handling menu to the faceup side exit and see if it exhibits the same behavior

<dc:subject>Laser Forum)

I have done about 100 belt replacments on this model over the years and after the first two I have never done the test as it is misleading and sometimes you can loosen and damage the connection at the emod site just trying to gain access to the test points From what I remember and my memory is a bit fuzzy now you got a reading the would start at lets say 300 ohms and then it would start to go down gradually so I do not know what hp meant by continuity As long as you are careful when putting the trailing ribbon cables back into the carriage assembly no need for testing On the non plus models you have to be very careful as you can indeed blow the emod On the plus models just make sure you have a spare fuse on hand The biggest problem I know encounter is the white plastic ledges on the ribbon cable at the carriage end start to fall off I just make sure I carry a container of crazy glue so I can reattach them They are the most important part to be able to insert those ends in the sockets and firmly pressed down with a small flat tip screwdriver Always check the contacts to make sure they are straight and not separating from the ribbon cable Crazy glue also helps if one or two are coming loose

<dc:subject>Printer leaving the left side The blue sensor light that shines down stays on I can manually move the carriage by unplugging the power cord on the back It seems to me that the mechanism below the ink cartridges on the right does not move as it should I can manually move it with pressure back and forth I dont know if there is a signal that it is not getting or if it the carriage that is not getting the proper signal I have watched this by holding down the sensor for the print cartridge access door and having the top open Has any one encountered this type of problem HP was no help I have done all the 3 6 power button cancel button etc to no avail Thank you Ann

<dc:subject>InkJet
